COVID19 has upended so many aspects of our lives that it can be hard to wrap our heads around what this means for transportation electrification. In this post, we won’t dive deep into the market implications because it’s far too early to know how this will play out. Instead, we’ll share some things we can say for certain about what we’ll be doing on EV Hub in the coming months.

Our priorities this month, and for the foreseeable future, will be to continue to track market and policy developments as we’ve been doing for nearly three years. We don’t expect major new policy in the near future, but the market will likely go through some gyrations as the economic effects of the pandemic start to materialize. We’ll also use this time to take a fresh look at how we’re structuring some of our policy tracking and dashboards to ensure that our users can find the information they need quickly.

Beginning April 1st, we’ll get going on our quarterly summary slide deck as usual. As a reminder, this slide deck pulls together developments in the market and public policy along with a summary of media coverage and research. The slides are usually available the last day of the month following the end of the quarter. Last year, we started presenting this slide deck in a recorded webinar. We’ll continue that with our Q1 slides but will shake up the webinar format. Rather than simply presenting the slides as we’ve done to date, we’ll limit our presentation to our insights and encourage greater input from the community. Stay tuned on how we’ll be doing that.

Speaking of webinars, which are all the rage right now, we have one this Wednesday at 1pm ET on electric trucks as part of our work with the Retail Industry Leaders Association, C2ES, and David Gardner and Associates. Charles from Atlas will speak about our recent report on the total cost of ownership of trucks. Don’t miss it! More information is available here and you can register through the following link: https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/3611666304828038411?source=P2P+Share.

We’ll also be doing our quarterly on-boarding webinar where we provide an overview of what is available on the EV Hub and how to use it. This will be held some time in April. Stay tuned for more information on that and be sure to join if you’re new to EV Hub or are interested in a refresher.

We’ll save our prognostications on the virus’s impacts on the EV market for a future post. For now, please stay safe and let us know if you have any suggestions about how we can make the EV Hub more valuable to you during this difficult time.
