This impact report outlines the progress that the electric utility AEP Ohio has made on their transportation electrification programs and how this interfaces with the overall goals of Smart Columbus. In addition to expanding the charging network throughout the region, AEP Ohio is committed to grid decarbonization to further enhance the emissions saving potential of the Smart Columbus programs. AEP Ohio recognizes the important role utilities play in closing infrastructure gaps and is taking an active role by offering incentives for business customers and local governments to deploy EV charging infrastructure that will benefit electric vehicle drivers region-wide. AEP Ohio is also committed to deploying energy efficiency programs, universal wind and solar, smart meters, and demonstration projects in smart lighting and microgrids. The impact report presents progress updated as well as timelines for the remaining investment cycles.
