About the presenter:
Alan Hejl is the founder and lead consultant at Spark Access; with a mission to improve accessibility and disability inclusion across the mobility industry for people with disabilities, on a philosophy that promotes inclusion over compliance. With experience in Autonomous Vehicle design, EV Charging programs, and city planning and infrastructure that combine physical and digital environments, Spark Access sparks technical excellence through community experience. Alan is an auto industry alumni and formerly built the automotive industry’s first Accessibility department while at General Motors, with award-winning impact. Accessibility and removing barriers is a personal passion of his as he identifies with chronic nerve pain & ADHD/neurodiversity, has a partner who is paralyzed and a manual wheelchair user, and sits on several volunteer boards and commissions throughout Detroit and Michigan to make his community more accessible.
