On August 28, 2020, SCE was received an approval with modification for their Charge Ready 2 Program. The approval includes approvals for up $436 million in investment for EV initiatives. This investment could support up to 40,100 charging stations and includes investment in fleet advisory services for customers to transition fleet vehicles to EVs. The program includes a 50 percent investment requirement in underserved communities for the largest make-ready component of the program. The approval led to a reduction in the initially proposed budget of $760 million. Some of the education and outreach components of the initial filing were rejected based on the justification that SCE was not well suited to carry out the promotion of EV awareness and should collaborate with other stakeholders instead.
